Virtual Yoga Assistance

In recent years, yoga has become an integral part of life for many people worldwide. Originating from India, yoga is a traditional practice aimed at maintaining both mental and physical fitness. It involves a combination of physical postures (asanas), regulated breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, and relaxation practices.

Musculoskeletal disorders, which are increasingly common due to accidents or aging, have become a significant concern for the future. Regular physical exercise has been shown to reduce the prevalence and impact of these disorders, and yoga serves as an excellent form of physical exercise.

The recent pandemic has witnessed a substantial surge in the number of yoga practitioners, many of whom have taken up the practice without proper guidance. This has highlighted the need for tools to assist and guide practitioners effectively.

To address this need, we propose the development of a Virtual Yoga Assistant using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. This system will monitor the movement of human body parts and evaluate the accuracy of various yoga poses, providing real-time guidance to users to help them practice yoga correctly and safely.
